Every year, the American Association of Managed Care Nurses (AAMCN) brings together members and healthcare executives from the American Association of Integrated Healthcare Delivery Systems (AAIHDS), the AAMCN, and the National Association of Managed Care Physicians (NAMCP) for their Spring and Fall Managed Care Forums.

These forums offer their attendees unique networking opportunities as well as integrated learning sessions related to population health management, oncology, and the business of managed care.  Each forum offers sessions in three tracks:  The Business track, Population Health track, and the Oncology track.  Attendees are not locked-in to any one track and may attend any sessions they find of interest.  Each forum also offers continuing education credits to both nurses and physicians.

The AAMCN held this year’s Spring Managed Care Forum on May 3rd and 4th at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.  Some of the topics presented include:

  • Clinical and Quality Outcomes is the New Income – Is Your Organization Ready?
  • MACRA: The Train Has Left the Station – Are You Onboard?
  • New Options in the Treatment of Hepatitis C (HCV): Clinical Considerations for Improved Patient Outcomes
  • Exploring the Challenges of Severe Asthma: Implementing Personalized Treatment Plans for Improved Patient Outcomes
  • Personalized Treatment Strategies in the Management of Metastatic Colorectal Cancer (mCRC)
  • Novel Treatment Strategies in the Management of Ovarian Cancer: A Closer Look at the Role of PARP Inhibitors

This is a small list of the many topics presented by spectacular and knowledgeable presenters at this year’s Spring Managed Care Forum.

As an AAMCN Board Member, I am privileged to participate, attend, and take part in the planning of the forums.  The AAMCN Board took the opportunity to meet during the Spring Forum to continue planning for the upcoming Fall Managed Care Forum, among other agenda items.

The 2018 Fall Managed Care Forum will be held on November 8 – 9 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.
